Bajaj V Review
Overview
The wait is over! The next Bajaj bike is not CS400, it is an all-new commuter brand series, which will be sold a ‘V’ (Vikrant). Bajaj released an official teaser video the upcoming bike on January 26. The 1st bike under this series is going to be a 150cc model, and it will be launched in India on February 1.
Interestingly the new Bajaj ‘V’ range is claimed to be made from the metal of the INS Vikrant, an Indian warship, which was used during the 1971 Indo-Pak war. The all-new bike will also carry a special logo to commemorate India’s first aircraft carrier that was scrapped in 2014.
Bajaj V150 is a expected to be powered by the engine of Bajaj Discover 150F. The 144.8cc, 4-stroke, single-cylinder engine, develops maximum power of 14.3 BHP @ 8500 rpm and maximum torque of 12.75 NM @ 6500 rpm. The engine will be mated to a 5-speed gearbox.
The instrument cluster is expected to be an all-analog one with a speedometer, tachometer, trip-meter, odometer and a fuel gauge. The front suspension of Bajaj V150 would be a telescopic setup with twin shock absorbers are the rear end.
The brake set-up would most probably a disc brakes at front and a drum brake at ear. Bajaj V will be positioned above the Discover brand and below the Pulsar brand. V150 is expected to be priced around INR 60,000 for the base model.
